Fishing in the Rain!

I have found a new hobby.... Yes, it is fishing! I have not caught a fish, but I will. I find it very exciting relaxing in the outdoors, waiting for a tug on your line. It gives me time to think and at the same time get away from everything. I have been going to Logan Reservior.... got my night crawlers. Even though it was raining both times I have gone, I still enjoyed it. Fishing is good during and after it rains anyway. Plus, my amazing friends that come along! I love fishing... even though I have not caught anything except a tree. I am going tomorrow after work... Ill let you know how everything goes!!

The Adventures of Bear Lake!

Bear Lake was Awesome! We had a BBQ and swam in the lake. Finally when everyone arrived we started to set things up. If it was not for David and his scout buddies we would have not been prepared at all! We ate some great hamburgers and hot dogs. David cooked them, we would have basically been in trouble if we did not invite boys. They were there to help us and do things for us, rather than to hang out. I am totally kidding.

As we were eating everyone was in a circle. Amanda and I were in the middle sitting in the sand. We played the game two truths and one lie. The game was going really well until it was Amanda's turn. Molly, Hannah and I started laughing when Amanda said for one of her chooses, " I have been engaged." The three of us could not help but to laugh. Justin and Kevin, referred to at the top as scout buddies, played the ukulele and we listened to them sing telling stories. It was a tons of fun. We all played volleyball and personally I am not that great. Some people had some mad volleyball skills, it was awesome and loads of fun.

I had to go and change into my swimming suit in a outhouse! It was terrible! Amanda came with me and climbed up all the rocks to get to the outhouse. When I was done changing we jumped in the lake. Surprisingly, the water was not that cold! Amanda and I swam really far out, and then swam back. We all tackled each other and pushed each other in the water. The boys, David, Justin and Kevin did not have a swimming suit, the girls tackled them in the water anyways! Molly, Hannah, Amanda and I had a chicken fight. Hannah was on Molly's shoulders and Amanda was on mine. Both teams had won one each. The last game we had we tied. Both Molly and I were drowning. Hannah and Amanda were trying to get up and this caused Molly and I to stay under the water. I was a blast still and we all lived. We packed up our everything and headed off to the next great thing......

We all got changed at some gas station into clothes, then headed off to the Pickleville Playhouse. We saw a play, I forgot the name. Bantetio was the guys name. It was really funny and way good. I bought some popcorn for Amanda and I. Hannah, Amanda, and Molly still quote things from the play, so it must have been good. After the play, we all went to get raspberry ice cream and food. We sat at a table and just talked and hung out. It was a good day.

First day of Soccer!! I have got a uniform, am on a team, and playing soccer in Spain! I don't think it can get any better than that! Starting the day off.... We had breakfast at 8AM. I had a pastry thing.... It was really good! I grabbed my soccer stuff and headed to the pitch for practice. It was about a five to ten minute walk until we arrived.

The boys... waiting to eat breakfast!

This is the pitch we would practice on in the mornings.

After the morning practice, we would go and lear n spainsh. Our teacher name was Victor. He was very helpful and patient with me. We would learn words and sentences that helped us get around Spain. For example: how to order things, how to ask questions etc.....
We also learned the words for soccer games. The referees would say everything in Espanol, so in order to understand what was happing we had to l earn all the soccer terms.

We headed back to the hotel for lunch! The food is SO good. There was always a lot of bread and pastries. The italian pizza was really good. Oh.... It was like a patato cake, that was my favorite. Basically we could ask them to make us something and the chefs did. It was amazing!! European food is the BEST! We played soccer in the hall way at the hotel, jumped on matress in the halls, and watch futbol matchs on TV during our hour an a half free time. Also, Shane and I went to explore around our hotel and we found a candy shop. That was the greatest!
In the evening, we all went to the swimming pool. It was a lot of fun. I did cannon balls and played around. Also, I beat Tato in a race swimming across the pool. He had to buy me a drink. Good times! Everyone just hung out, listened to their I-pods, and played soccer at the swimming pool.
Then we went to soccer practice in the evening. We did drills and improved are skills. We had to go through an obsticle coures that was set up. First we dribbled around big cones three times, next we would sprint up the pitch with the ball, after we would roll the ball with the bottom of our feet about fifteen times, pop the ball in the air, dive through a hula hoop and go through a set of falgs. We did this drill about twenty times. Also, we did a shooting drill. We would pop the soccer ball in the air and let it hit the ground ounce than shoot. We would also pop the ball in the air and strike the ballin the air without letting it hit the ground. It was tough. We would switch off between boths of the drills.

Finally it was time to eat dinner! The Food was really really good. We had spaggetti for dinner and some rolls. We had a choose between to spainsh desserts. Flan and gelatto. Ya of course I picked gelatto! You would have to be crazy not to! The time in Spain to eat is diffrent than what I was used to also. In the morning we would eat breakfast at 8, but then lunch was not until 2 and dinner was not until around 830 or 9. It was touture!! Next, off to bed. Brushed my teeth, took a shower, e-mailed home and hit the sack.

This is the pool that I won the race in! WOOT WOOT!

One Of The BEST Decisions....

I can not begin to describe the emotions that had over come me as I got on the airplane to go to Spain. I felt a sense of joy and comfort, but at the same time nervous. I knew that Heavenly Father was with me every step of the way.
About a month before I left, I told my parents that I would be going to Spain to play soccer by myself. Both of them did not like the idea, and refused to let me go. I had been praying about the decision to go to Spain or Lake Powell for the summer. Spain kept going through my head. After, praying multiple times, I knew the Lord would provide a way. A lot more praying and blessings finally convinced me that I was suppose to go to Spain. The answer was cemented in my heart! I had never been so sure of something that Heavenly Father wanted me to do.
Two amazing people helped me through a lot of the situations and they believed in me. I still can not express how much that meant to me. As I got on the plane on July 20,2008 , I knew that I was making the best decision. The plane ride to Spain seemed like a long time. My flight got rerouted. Instead of going to Georgia, Paris and then Madrid; I went to NYC and then to Madrid.

As I got off the plane in Madrid, Spain; I said multiple prayers in my head about were I was suppose to go, and what I was suppose to do. I was so nervous! I started following the crowd of people and ended up at the baggage. I looked and looked for my bag but could not find it. AH!! I was getting really frustrated. I did not want to lose my soccer boots, everything else I really did not care about. I kept asking Heavenly Father over and over again; please help me find my bag. Finally I found it. I was really happy.
Now the hard part.... finding the group I was suppose to meet up with. Not knowing a lot of Spanish, it seemed difficult. I knew everything would work out. After about an hour of searching, I found the group. The person that was in charge did not speak any English... After a long process of trying to tell him who I was, we finally understood each other. YAY! His name is Pollie, and he was really nice. Pollie drove me and another girl, Emily, to the F and G hotel we were staying at in San Sebastian.
